Area officers designated to work with LAWMA Academy on the waste education and advocacy program in all primary schools in the State.
The objectives of this training are:
To indoctrinate the teachers into the waste management system as advocates in their schools and localities.
To enhance their knowledge and teachings on waste and the environment.
To instill good waste management culture into the students.
To enlighten the teachers on business opportunities embedded in waste management.
Participants were trained on some basic concepts of waste management like: waste reduction techniques, Reuse, Recycling, environmental conservation and sustainability. Likewise, they were taken through a practical session on Upcycling of waste materials to other useful products.
The trainings when replicated in schools will foster behavioural change for a sustainable environment in the State.
